I have Windows XP and I had a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 that I purchased around August 2010. All of a sudden, about 3 days ago, I started having a problem with the arrow keys. Every time I pressed any of the arrow keys and held it down to go quicker, a little trail of cursor blinks was created. I would type a word, then arrow left to correct a wrongly typed letter and not be able to see the word clearly because of the trail of cursor blinks. But once I fixed the error in the word and then continued typing, the trail of cursor marks would disappear. I tried the following:
1. Plugging the keyboard into a different USB port, twice.
2. Uninstalling and reinstalling the software for the keyboard.
3. Finding the newest software update on the Microsoft website and installing that.
None of these things helped.
Yesterday, I purchased a Microsoft Natural Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 7000. I have installed it all today and I am still having the same problem. I just used the arrow keys as mentioned to backtrack and correct an error in this blurb and it did the same thing.
Does anyone know what is going on and how I can fix it?
