Hi.. I have Windows Vista Basic Home. I keep getting a message saying there
are new Windows Updates to install. But the only one being recommended is
Windows XP Service Pack 3. Why? I tried to install but, unsurprising,
installation failed.. yet I still keep being prompted to install it. What
should I do? (PS... I got an update failure error code, but when I looked to
see what it meant, it wasn't listed!). Thanks.

I have seen reference to this before. It is a known problem. Check in the
windows.update newsgroup. You can also hide the update by right clicking on
it in Windows Update and checking "hide".
