Is there a problem with windows update page? For over a week now when I try
to access windows update site, it starts to load and then freezes up. I
tried doing this on my other computer and I end up with the same results. I
am able to surf the web and go where ever I want so I know that's not the
problem. I am running windows xp sp2 pro, on a pentium 4 cpu 2.40ghz with
1gb ram. Thanks you.

No.

Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task Manager and click the Performance
Tab. Under Commit Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?

You should be able to gather more information from Task Manager. With
the Processes tab open select View, Select, Columns and check the boxes
before Peak Memory Usage and Virtual Memory size. What are the figures
for the 6 processes using the largest amounts?

What are your anti-virus and anti-spyware arrangements?

Hope this helps.

Under commit chargem total is 197688, limit is 2520720, peak is 631740. I'm
not to sure If I got what you wanted right for the 6 processes. But, in the
processes tab this is the 6 biggest msimn.exe 24,480 / svchost.exe (system)
22,840 / explorer.exe 18,292 / incd.exe 8,452 / itype,exe 7,460 and
svchost.exe (local server) 6952. Also I'm using IE 7. Virus program is
Kaspersky. Anti-spyware is webroot spy sweeper. Thnak for your time and
Merry Christmas.

Please post copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in the
System and Application logs in Event Viewer for when the most
recenterrors occur. No Information Reports or Duplicates please.
Indicate which also appear in a previous boot.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

It's networked to the Linksys WRT54G. The linksys is connected to the
starband modem. All the computers (2) are connected to the router. I have to
use static ip for it to run with the modem. Also I have DHCP Server enabled.
Thanks
