Windows Update icon on Task bar says "New Updates Available." When I click nothing happens. I click on Windows Update under Programs, no response. Tried the "Fix It" and "search for troubleshooting" cannot use Win Key + Pause Break. don't know
what Service Pack I have.
I am using Windows 7 on a HP Laptop (about 3 years old) I have tried a system restore. I did uninstall some programs - but I am pretty careful. I used the system restore created by those installations.
