Windows Update no longer works on my Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 Professional. The error that is given is as follows "WindowsUpdate_8024800A" "WindowsUpdate_dt000".
It is my belief that this problem was generated after updating to a new version of Norton Internet Security, since this is, I believe, the only piece of software that I have changed since the last successful use of Windows Update. However, other programs
may have been updated automatically, such as browsers, or various applications such as java,.
I have used System Restore to launch what i thought was a version of the system predating the Norton change, but this did not solve the problem. Any suggestions for how to resolve?
