Good morning,
I am unable to run windows updates on my PC. I try to run microsft update on windows 7 pro and I it checks for update and then comes back with the message "Install new windows update software........." so I click on "Install now" and I get the error "Windows
could not search for new updates. An error occured... Error found 8007371B".
If I then click on "Get help with this error" I am taken to the microsoft troubleshooter which attempts to fix the issue. It lists the following:
Potential Windows Update Database Error detected 0x8007371B
Windows Update Components must be repaired
Problem with Background Intelligent Transfer Service
It then reports that it has "Fixed" all of the issues and prompts me to "Try attempting the task you were trying to do before" but when I try again I get exactly the same issue.
I have tried reinstalling the Windows Update software, repairing the software, restoring the PC, installing windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe manually (which gives me the error "windows update agent installer encounted unrecoverable error") and installing SP1
manually (which just hangs at 31%).
I am out of ideas, please help!

I am unable to run windows updates on my PC. I try to run microsft update on windows 7 pro and I it checks for update and then comes back with the message "Install new windows update software........." so I click on "Install now" and I get the error "Windows
could not search for new updates. An error occured... Error found 8007371B".
If I then click on "Get help with this error" I am taken to the microsoft troubleshooter which attempts to fix the issue. It lists the following:
Potential Windows Update Database Error detected 0x8007371B
Windows Update Components must be repaired
Problem with Background Intelligent Transfer Service
It then reports that it has "Fixed" all of the issues and prompts me to "Try attempting the task you were trying to do before" but when I try again I get exactly the same issue.
I have tried reinstalling the Windows Update software, repairing the software, restoring the PC, installing windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe manually (which gives me the error "windows update agent installer encounted unrecoverable error") and installing SP1
manually (which just hangs at 31%).
I am out of ideas, please help!
