Windows update failing

I just reinstalled windows xp sp2 and when I went to update, it said
there were 71 updates, so I clicked to install them, and every single
one of them failed. What is the problem here?

On the WU Website, select your history of updates - now click on failed update (red mark)
and see if there is an error code.
If there is an error code, write it down and post to the Windows Update Newsgroup or do a
search for the error code on the Windows Update Newsgroup.
