On one of the computers I'm managing I'm still running Vista 32 bit. The system is up to date with all service packs and regular updates applied and generally is running OK. Now I know a very similar problem has been posted in this circle before, but I
believe mine is not the same.Ever since the February 2013 patch Tuesday, which, by the way, was executed all right, I have a Windows Update icon in the system tray with a notification that no check for updates can take place. However, the only option it gives is to go to the control panel,
WINDOWS update. There any updates are perfectly visible. I can also check for new updates, and I can install them. Also, the automatic check and the automatic installation take place normally. So everything works OK, only the notification sits in the system
tray and remains there. When new updates have been loaded the notification changes to "waiting to install", and after installation it goes back to "windows update cannot check".In other words, this is a nuisance message only.I've tried all kinds of fix-its, but they do not change this phenomenon. Any suggestions?
