Hi,

I'm trying to do a Windows Update on a Windows 2003 server. It says
it wants 3G
of space for 'archiving backup files'. The partition is only 4G!!!

Is there any way I can tell it that I don't want to archive backup
files?

Thanks,

David

I think the bottom line here is that 4GB is not enough space for Windows 2003.

Is Windows Update trying to install a service pack?

Yes, it wants to install SP2.

Dude, I have 4 gig haning off my keychain :)

And for the serious answer:
You will need to download the full install and use the /n switch to not
create the backup folder.
Download from:

I think that should work around this for you.
