I am trying to install Windows Script 5.6 for Windows in order to try and
troubleshoot why I can't download the latest iTunes application.

When I went to the website...

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

And tried downloading, a window came up that said...

Windows Script 5.6

Command line option syntax error. Type Command /? for Help

Can someone now help me troubleshoot this error and if anyone has
experienced similar problems in trying to download iTunes 7, please fel free
to chime that in as well.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Try this:
Run disk cleanUp on your Drive C:\, then try this command:
sfc /scannow click [OK] and let it run, you may need your XP Installation
media handy to insert it in if the system asked you to do so!.

Download and save on your Desktop and then turn your Internet Security OFF
(please just for this Operation, remember to Turn ON back again, some AVs
will tell do you want to turn off for 5 Minutes or so.. ).

Just a guess, you may need this:
Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0 Service Pack 7

Does the iTunes return any error message or it is asking direct for WES 5.6?.

How about sticking with one (1) of your earlier threads about getting iTunes
installed and finishing up there?

Repost: Is the machine fully patched at Windows Update?

PS: Windows Script v5.7 is the latest version for WinXP:
