Windows RT Mail App problem - can't remove old email work account

My prior company used Gmail, I set this account up on my RT, but since leaving, they disabled the Gmail account, before I could remove it from my RT and the Mail app. So now, in order to remove it the only way the app itself knows, it tries to connect to it, but it can't, hence I can't remove it.



I spoke with a Microsoft technical rep who even asked his supervisor for help on this, and none of their suggestions worked.



Its been a month since I tried, so I forget some of the options, however, we tried the following



- removing the account by selecting it within the mail app, going to the charms bar, properties of the account, again, it gets stopped at trying to connect to the account



- tried to reset the App licenses or the refresh option. This would be for all apps.



- they had me basically reset the whole RT system except for user data, so almost effectively starting new.



- uninstall the app and reinstall it, no luck there.





I believe there must be a way to remove those particular settings within RegEdit or somewhere else. It is clearly a setting tucked away somewhere.



Any ideas?
