I have Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 x64.
I've been using this computer for 2 years with no problems. Four days ago I began getting the message that my version of Windows is not genuine. I also can no longer download or install Windows Updates. (I receive the Error Code 8000FFFF.) When I right
click My Computer, it says my Windows is registered. I have the Product Key from the label on the bottom of the computer.
Via telephone, I spoke with a Windows tech who tells me that the Product Key is not matching anything. He advised me to contact Toshiba to get an install disk which I did only to find that Toshiba does not offer installation disks for Windows 7.
The last successful installation of an update was on December 8, 2012.
I've tried the "Fix It" solution offered by Microsoft. I've tried restoring the computer but there is no restore point that goes back to December 8.
After running thorough malware checks, there is no malware on my computer.
I'm not really computer literate! I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me.
