Windows Mobile Device Center

I recently purchased a Samsung phone/PDA (SCH-i760) and am trying to link it
through the Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) to Outlook 2007. At one
point I had a link but when I downloaded "newer" USB drivers from Samsung
the link became broken and I have been unable to re-establish the download
link. I've searched the Samsung web site for user groups or any other help
information on their device. I have their CD with the WMDC program
installer, but little help there either. My question is: Is there a user
group for the Windows Mobile Device Center or is this the only place to ask
for assistance? I'm about to go back to my Palm Treo!!

When you open Control Panel/Device Manager, the Properties of the USB Root
Hub devices have a Driver tab, with a 'Roll Back driver" feature.

Thanks Mark, but I'm already past that.
After installing the newer Samsung USB drivers and having lost the link, I
uninstalled the new drivers through the control Panel/Programs and Features
interface. After that there was no driver to roll back to. There are
currently 7 USB controllers listed, (Generic, Standard Enhanced, Standard
Open HCD, Composite, Mass Storage, and two Root) all of which have the "Roll
Back" button grayed out. When I plug in the PDA, Vista asks for a driver
and then directs me back to the Samsung download site for the driver. When
that USB driver is installed Vista is happy with the link, but the WMDC does
not see the Samsung PDA. I've tried rolling everything back to a time before
installing anything and starting over but even that did not help.

Watching the Device Manager when I plug the PDA into the USB port "Other
devices/Samsung CDMA Technologies" shows up. When the I load the Samsung USB
drivers that item in the Device Manager goes away but and the USB driver
shows up, but WMDC still does not recognize the PDA.

Add a System Environment Variable:
DevMgr_Show_NonPresent_Devices
and set it's value = 1
Open Device Manager, Click View, Tic/Check "Show Hidden Devices"
Review your categories checking for "Phantom" entries - those shown
in diminished tone can be removed ( Skip Sound & System categories ).
PDA devices with WMDC can be a real pain to get setup and stay
working.
