Windows Mobile Device Center 64 Bit

I am running windows 7 64 bit. I had WMDC version 6.1.6965 installed and it has been working perfectly. Now all of a sudden it won't connect to my mobile devices. My comp chimes when I connect the usb. WMDC hangs on the splash screen or it just says error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times. Can anyone help me with this?
