since download & installation (04/30/08) of IDT - Audio - IDT High
Definition Audio CODEC

no music and driver yellow flagged

I have had the same issue today.
Restore the your system to the state before the Update was installed.
start, button, run "rstrui" (without the quotes).If system restore is
not turned off, you'll find a restore point created by the system before
the update was installed.
Another way is to uninstall the driver and install the one you had
before.It can be
downloaded from the manufacturer's support site.

got back previous CODEC.

driver still yellow flagged and no sound.

I installed same update, what a mistake. Not only did my audio not work,
but I could not start control panel from the start menu. Using windows
explorer I was able to get to windows updates, but I could not get to the
uninstall page. I used system restore to correct the problem.

restored old driver and still no music.

old driver (original) flagged yellow too now????
