Hello.
I have been having this problem ever since i got my computer. When i play a
dvd or music or anything in Windows Media Player the sound continues to play
even after i have closed the window. I have to go to task manager and
manually shut down the process. It is starting to get very irritating. What
is wrong? How do I fix it?

Thanks
Ben

Windows Vista Ultimate.
3.00GHz Intel Core Duo
3GB RAM

I have been experiencing this should I say 'phenomenon' on Media Player as
far back as version 9. It happens especially if you have have been playing
audio for a long period of time. I personally suspect it has something to do
with Media Player unloading from memory which is just simply taking its own
sweet time. When I am about to go to bed at nights, Media Player is one of
the last apps I close and even then it continues playing the song. When I
wait a bit probably 10 seconds max, the song will stop playing.

Re: Windows Media Player not stop playing, even after closing the

Tried all what those links said but nothing happens.

It also gets very irritating when i go to play a dvd in Power DVD, it pops
up a second after i get into it even though i pressed PowerDVD on the Autorun
list, so once again i have to go through task manager wasting my time to
close it.

I might just get rid of it and use itunes for my music.... :-(

It should be held up there by a driver that won't shut down cleanly.
You can press Stop previous to closure to make it stop, of course.
