Hi. My Windows media player is not working. All files seems to be there but
not opening.
How I can reinstall it. Or unistall it.
Please help.

You need to be more specific than "it is not working".

- Does Media Player start and then crash?
- Does it it start and not play media?
- Does double clicking a media file not open it in Media PLayer as it
should?
- Are you getting audio but no video when playing movies?
- Is it the Media Player files that are there and not working, or
your media files themselves that just don't open.
- What error messages are you getting?

Nothing. When I click on it, nothing coming up.
I try click from quick links ikon, I try go to all programs and click WMP,
still not, I go to programfiles and find its exe, still nothing coming. I
think I have deleted some files. Because before I tried to instal some codecs
and when codes did not work, I tried to delete. I dont have recovery cd for
mmy laptop too.
My OS is Vista home basic.
Isnt there any way to delete it and reinstall.Regards....

Did you use the proper uninstall options when deleting these codecs? If
not, then can you recover these deleted files from your recycle bin?

There doesn't seem to be any way to uninstall and re-install Windows
Media Player, but have you perhaps tried system restore? (Click Start,
type "system restore" without quotes, then click the link that appears
the the top of the list).

If that doesn't help, then check your laptop documentation for how to
access the recovery partition. That may be a bit drastic, and make sure
you have backups of your important data before using this option. System
Recovery Disks have a nasty habit of wiping just about everything if
you're not careful about what options you choose.

There is a reliability update for WMP 11 in Vista that was released
at the beginning of October. Maybe, this update will help reset WMP 11.

This is a reliability update. Install this update to improve the reliability of Windows Media
Player 11 for Windows Vista in certain scenarios.

Is it listed in the Processes tab of Task Manager or not?

If it is, it's locking on something.
If it isn't, it can't open at all and you probably installed
SatelliteTVforPC2006 or some other nastyware. =\

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
