I lost my Windows Media Player icon on both the desktop and quick launch. I
finally found the program when typing wmplayer.exe in the 'run' box. The
program is up, but I can't add it to the desktop or the quick launch, how do
I do this?

Hi,

Right click the desktop, choose new/shortcut. Browse to or type in:

"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe"

Click next, give it a name and finish. You can drag it to the quicklaunch
bar to place a copy there.

search for it again it will be called wmplayer.exe

right click it then go to send-to /desktop create short cut

you should then have a shortcut on your desktop you can also drag this
to the task bar this will create a quick launch

You can copy and paste it from your Start Menu, if you want one with the
same tooltip information.

ss.

You can run:
"%programfiles%\windows media player\setup_wm.exe" /RunOnce
to go through the First Use wizard again. Use Custom if you want to add a
desktop shortcut. I find those clutter-y and that contributes to why the
desktop shortcut is off by default there. =)
