my windows media player wont open any more, when i try to open windows media

player is not properly installed, would you like to go to the website and
install it correctly" and then i do and it takes me to the windows xp update
and then that update doesnt apply to my system is the message i get.

i have also tried all the other updates related to wmp11 and none if them
apply to my system or i get a message stating i am running the most current
version of wmp11 no updates are available?!???!?!?!?!?!?

when i tried to completely reinstall wmp11 form the microsoft website i get
the same mesage i am running the most current version no updates are
available??

isnt there a way to uninstall windows components or something? is anyone
else experiencing this?

it doesnt matter how i try to open wmp11 whether i run as administrator,
open a mp3, a wav, a wmv or anything i have tried it wont open and i get the
same stupid microsoft message, and it takes me to the same windows xp wmp 11
update, please help me out if you have a solution.

Have you checked Control Panel (Classic view) > Problem Reports and Solutions
for any clues to what is causing the problem?

Is anything else awry on your system?

This error should be pretty to very rare: it's indicative that the system
verification database has become corrupted. What changed on the system
previous to this happening? In the XP timeframe, the two suggested fixes
were either of these:
* run "sfc /scannow"
* reinstall Windows
Those would be the likely solutions now. =\

I've filed a bug on this message, to clean it up for the future. It should
be *extremely* rare. =\
