When I upgraded to media player 11 from my OEM 10 version several problems
started I have spent many hours with self help and followed all instructions.
My settings are all as they should be:
Problem 1) When I try to download videos I get the following message:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred.
The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the
network and that your proxy settings are correct. error code C00D006" I have
set my proxy settings to AUTO and checked all options.
Problem 2) I cant retrieve album art information from the internet even
though I am permanently connected on 8meg broadband. I have discovered that
this is a firewall problem as if I close PC Cillin it works. I have added
the address to allowed sites in PC Cillin, also media player and followed all
self help suggestions I could find, none of them work.
Problem3) I cant burn music files to disc any more. I have checked all the
settings and they are as they should be and as they were before the upgrade.
I have emailed Microsoft twice with no reply.
I am using XP Can anyone help. Thanks. Steve.
