Pat in trouble again

Everytime I log into windows I get a box that says. Windows Installer:
Please wait while windows configures Scan. Of course it can't so I then get
a message that Scan is not on the disk 1. I have been able to get rid of
this in the past by using a restore point but that is not working now. I
have also been told in the past to delete a specific update which causes this
message but it was not installed on my computer. Can someone please help me
get rid of this annoying problem.

Thanks for the update but that didn't do anything to eliminate the problem.
I still get the same message. The feature you are trying to use is on a
CD-rom or other removable disk that is not available.
