Hi Gerry,
Thank you for the post, my response is inline.

That is correct, as per my earlier post, the crash output was from an
attempt to watch a video. I was using Windows Media Player, Version
10.00.00.4058. I do recall trying Media Player Classic and the same thing
happened. I don't have the file anymore to try and make it happen
consistantly.
However, the crash happens in other scenarios, for example, once it happened
when I attempted to open a folder on my desktop.
More recently, if I unplug my Plantronics DSP 400 Headset from the USB,
windows explorer crashes.

Under Commit Charge, the Total is 639340, Limit is 4996984, Peak is 702960

At the moment, which is a typical situation of applications runing when I
have seen it crash, firefox is at 73,136K, mcschield at 56,028K, wscript.exe
50,060K, thunderbird 32,840K, explorer is 23,380K, I use TightVNC in my setup
to log into my Unix environment, but that doesn't show high on the list of
Mem Usage.
As stated earlier, I have seen windows explorer crash shortly after a fresh
reboot with no applications running such as thunderbird, firefox.

No I don't. I do have a habit of using hibernate or standby. However, I
have seen Windows Explorer crash as often as it has when the computer has
just come up or has been running for a couple of hours without hibernation or
after hibernation. I have not found a file or folder that can make it happen
consistently.
