I am trying to use Windows Easy Transfer to transfer files from my old WinXP 32-bit laptop to my new Wn7 64-bit laptop. I downloaded the XP application usng the Win7 laptop and transferred it to the XP laptop and installed it there. I used my existing wireless network as the transfer medium. I copied the transfer key from the old to the new laptop, and the transfer appeared to progress saying there were 390 files, which seems a bit low. When 390 have been transferred, both computers report the following error:
Windows Easy Transfer is unable to continue. Please reboot the computer and try again.
I rebooted both laptops once and WET results in the same error.
Should I simply try a different transfer method?
