windows does not start

hi,
basically, windows comes with with we aplogise screen select safe mode,
normal and command prompt. selecting any of those gets to the windows loading
but after couple seconds i see a quick blue screen, then it restarts.

i have tried recovery consle and fix boot. is there anything else i can
try, apart from reinstall windows?

Test the HDD, it may be died, test with the HDD manufacturer diagnostic tools.
Or your early Xmas list should include a new HDD ( if you can wait).

nerr i think its more likly me windows install. 2 nights it tried to install
an secruity patch but kept looping round so i switched off and in the morning
up , get that message screen get to the windows loadng then death and back
round again.
managed to pause the blue screen of death its error is

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

any ideas?

Glad it worked, make sure to check the error history in the event viewer to
track this down.
It could be an overheating issue or the HDD is going once, twice, gone!!,
good thing you done to back up your data.
