Windows Desktop Search: Indexed Location Setting Keeps Resetting

I have set the options to search the entire hard drive (c:). It indexes
about 80,000 items. Every month or so, I find that searches aren't finding
anything. Upon looking at options, I find it's only indexing locations My
Documents and email. The C:\ drive setting is unchecked. So I check it, and
start over. Then a month will go by and it's right back to losing the
indexed locations again.

And you are using it because ... it's not reliable ?
Uninstall it. End of story.

Well, that was patently unhelpful. I wrote because there is often a fix for
such errors. If "uninstall it" was the best answer for every app that
glitched, we'd all be using our PC's only to play PONG.

Thanks for nothing.

Re: Windows Desktop Search: Indexed Location Setting Keeps Resetti

According to your first post it doesn't do a complete search unless you
recheck the C:\ drive. Then you have to reset it again, say after not
using it for a month.

If there were an answser to resolve this so-called bug, don't you think
someone would have posted it by now ?

I personally find it buggy software not worth running you, obviously, do
not. So don't uninstall it. Just recheck it every time it will be used.
It's your choice.
End of story.

Re: Windows Desktop Search: Indexed Location Setting Keeps Resetti

Besides your being a tool, you're missing the point. I don't need you to
tell me if there is no fix and nobody responds then there is no solution so
uninstall. Duh. But i can't know that until I post and see -- googling
didn't reveal anyone else posting with the same issue.
