recently whenever I try to access a webpage from a shortcut on my desktop I
get a message saying that windows cannot find the file of say MSN maps or
whatever I am trying to access. However before I have time to click the OK
it has on it the correct website page appears. This is very annoying and I
am not sure why it has just started. Thanks for any help.

Thanks so very much for the prompt reply which fixed the problem. But I am
puzzled as to why this should suddenly happen. I see that it happened in
2004/5 with a previous version of Firefox.
