Can anyone tell me if Win98 will run on a Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad
machine? Or do I need a single processor? I am looking at building a
new computer and I have some DOS software that only runs under Win98. I
will be setting up a dual boot system with Win98 and XP.

In dual (core) cpu's win98 will simply ugnore the 2nd one...
but there may a lot of problems getting win98 to run...
Since the apps are DOS...why not just dual boot DOS and XP...and forget
about win98 entirely

Note: Some old dos apps may have trouble with a fast cpu but I suppose you
can try them and see

XP has Compatibility Mode wherein you can run Win98 programs.

Consider running the Win98 in a virtual machine?

Yes, it will run. No, it will not take advantage of the extra cores.

What's more important is that you can get motherboard and hardware drivers
for Win98.

If I may, let me clarify that statement, since it seems possible that
Dennis may misunderstand you. I'm sure you mean "What's more important
is *whether* you can get motherboard and hardware drivers for Win98."
