Windows 8 wont install games i previously had running on my XP service pack 3 .

Windows 8 on new asus laptop wont install games i previously had running on my Dell running XP service pack 3 i have run the compatibility options and even though the computer recognizes which version iam attempting to install it still wont install. the same program can be easily installed back on the XP running computer i still have so there is no apparent issue with the program itself.

i have also ticked the option to run XP programs in compatibility mode but still no result.
