Hi,

Windows 8 Pro. I've noticed that even though I can download the stand-alone updates from Windows download center, and even though it will install regular automatic updates, it will not open/run/install any downloaded stand-alone updates at all.

I've also checked the:
Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsDefault ProgramsSet Associations
and the msu file extantion is set to be opened by WordPad instead of via windows installer (probably).

I've tried to associate it with the Windows "stand-alone" installer module (Wusa.exe) but the msg I get is:
" Cannot associate file type with this program "... " The program you have selected cannot be associated with this file type. Please choose another program ".

If I change association to the Win32 Cabinet Self-Extractor, it just pops a msg' saying: " A required resource cannot be located ".

ANY help will be greatly appreciated.

With Utmost Respect,
Me.
