Windows 8 metro remote desktop app

I'm having an issue with the Windows 8 remote desktop metro app. When I login to servers I'm unable to type using the onscreen keyboard. It doesn't pop up when I click on anything. Anyone seen this issue or found a solution?Vincent Sprague
