Hello.
For the past, about 6 months, Windows 8 hasn't been working like it's support too. When the problem first occurred, I restored my laptop to a week before hand, but that did nothing. I've tried changing account and it still won't work. The only way that I can open desktop programs is by opening the task manager and right-clicking "open file location.". When I sign into an account, it goes straight to the desktop, but it shows no icons of the desktop background, it shows a black screen with the taskbar at the bottom. I can't open the modern UI by either pressing the start button or by moving my mouse into the bottom left corner. If I try opening an image, video or audio clip, I get a message saying "the application used to open this file is not running.".
The "charms" also don't open, wether I move my mouse or press the short-cut, nothing happens.
only recently, the Wifi randomly stops working, it will eventually reconnect, but it can take anywhere between 1 hour and 3 days to reconnect.
This used to happen, I could open charms to fix it, but now I cant.
Im using an ASUS laptop, Windows 8 was installed already when I got it.
Im still using Windows 8, since I can't update to 8.1.
If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it a lot.
Oh, and the Internet works on all other devices.
