Recently my hard disk started showing high raw read error rate, so I had to buy a new one, which I'm using now. I wanted to get some of my old files on my old hdd so I plugged them both and booted with priority on my new hdd, but Windows automatically started repairing the second hdd, repair that could never be completed because of the read errors, so I had to force a shut down. Next time I booted my computer I had to system restore. I'm going to upgrade to windows 8.1 through the night but I'd like to ask you if there is a way to access to my old hdd, in order to save some of the important files, without going through the register repair.
Thank you
