I guess MS just locks a post when they look like fools. This is in regard to the previous post: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/kvm-switch-windows-7-creates-monitor-switching/84f41660-1933-4109-9b13-1ea8a1c27be7 I'd still like a damn answer!!! Here's the first answer about 3 or 4 posts from the front: The brilliant Afzal (are you sure you're name isn't Peggy?) said this: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi mdorais, Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers. It is a problem found with those KVM switches which did not pass the console display's EDID and DDC information to all the systems connected to the KVM switch. That explains when you switch/select to other channel of connected system, the connected system simply cannot recognize what display had been connected, so end up with setback to system default (normally is 800 x 600). Windows 7 checks display and display card constantly different from what XP and other operating systems did. To solve this issue, just replace the KVM switch with those KVM switches supporting FULL TIME/ Active DDC function. Please check ConnectPRO new UR or PR serial KVM switches which support Active DDC function to all the ports. Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hi mdorais"? Really? I know people have already said ''You're telling me I have to buy new hardware to overcome the problem with your idiot software?'' Should I expect to buy new hardware that's not even part of the computer every time you come out with a new OS?. This is the line that kills me, as a 30-year software developer: ''Windows 7 checks display and display card constantly different from what XP and other operating systems did.'' WHHHHHYYYYY? Are you expecting us to plug in a different monitor every few seconds? Do you know how dumbass that is? (and also, is that why my HDD light on my Win7 machine pulses every second?) Ahh, but I can tell you folks what this is about -- it's about being cool for the teenage girls, and abandoning serious professionals. Same culture that's ruined the whole music and entertainment industry, and America in general. Can you tell me anything to the contrary Mr Afzal? Huh? Do you really think you're some magician who is not worthy of us peasants down here actually having to try to use the software to do business? Any answers Mr. don't-know-a-damn-thing-about-the-real-business-world??????????????????? PS: I don't expect any answer, except one that wimps out and says some weak girly s-h-i-t like I'm sorry you're the angry type or need meds...blah...blah. I'm a damn guru who, unlike most people today, knows what h-ell I'm doing.
