Random shut down issue :/ WTH....
For some unknown reason, recently, my desktop computer has been shutting down randomly while in use and I do not have a clue what the issue could be.
I've searched and found other sisuations like mine, but every one else has issues where the computer just goes, black screen, off, done....
The thing is with my issue, is that windows perfoms a proper shut down.....
I.E. All my programs close, then the windows screen comes up with the message "shutting down" as if I've gone to the task bar and clicked "shut down" myself. which I haven't
Only thing thats happened recently is that I reinstalled windows 7 64 bit, as I previously only installed the 32 bit by mistake and limited m 8Gb of RAM to only being able to use 4Gb.
I performed this reinstall as I recently purchased "Wildstar" the game from NCsoft, now, the game ran on my 32 bit, but crashed alot, to which I discovered my limited RAM issue. So I reinstalled and Voilla! runs MUCH better. still crashes from time to time, but I believe that to be general hardware issues and the game still being fairly new, may have some bugs hanging around. Any ways, for months, this has been fine, no issues. BUT starting last week, my computer has been perfoming this bizzare "Shut down" procedure.
After shutdown, I have to press the power button to turn my computer back on again, and it boots fine. Theres no wait time or anything. Nothing has changed within the case, so temperatures have always been the same as they were back when I had 32 bit installed. I can't seem to figure out whats causing this issue. Speedfan clocks my "Temp 1" at 40 - 55(ish) degrees C - I'm assuming this is maybe the cpu? I'm not sure which temp refers to which piece of hardware.
Temp 2 is clocked at around 30 Degrees C
HD0: about 30 - 33 Degrees C
GPU: this is flagging at 50 atm the minute (9 firefox tabs, speedfan running and skype.) and while pplaying Wildstar, goes up to about 65 Degrees C (which I don't see as being an issue, as this isn't overly hot for a graphics card, or so I am led to believe?
Finaly
Core is coming in at about 29 degrees C
So as far as I can tell, temperatur isn't the cause. Though I have cleaned my fans etc out just to test this.... though it has had no effect what so ever, no lowered temps, and no cease on the shutdown procedure.
There have been no changes to hardware, no changes to software, Run a complete virus check with no warnings or anything and I have run a quick memory diagostic test, with no negative results, though it was only a short run.
Can any body please help me figure this out, because it's doing my nut in.
I am running windows 7 enterprise Service pack 1 (but I must add its out of license due to the fact that I lost my old disk back at uni and don't want to pay for another one as I don't know when I may upgrade my OS. So for now, I'm just running out of license, thought I can't imagine this is the cause, as it's been running in this way for the past year and a bit with no issues)
Any more info, please let me know and I really hope we can get this sorted, it's driving me mad :/
