Windows 2003 R2 Schema extention

I have 3 Windows 2003 Domain Controllers and I am wanting to set up a
Windows 2003 R2 print server. So my plans are to upgrade the schema
to R2 but I don't want to upgrade my domain controllers to R2. Is
this possible or do I have to at least have one R2 domain controller?

So my plans are to upgrade the schema

You would do this by running adprep on the schema master for your domain.

This server would be the only server you actually "update" to R2 by running
setup2 from the second disk of the R2 set.

When you update the schema it prepares your domain for the new R2 features.
This will allow you to install the "updated" features on which ever server
you want to use those updated features on.
