Window XP Pro setup problem

I have recently built a new system. When I try to install window xp pro, the installer gets to the screen where it says welcome to setup, and I can press enter to install a freash copy of window, R to repair install etc. However it doesn't matter what key I press on the keyboard nothing happens, be it ENTER, R or F3. Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't even work. Does anyone know what's wrong?

The keyboard is PS/2 and it works fine in the bios

Did you check for memory compatibility for the board you used when building ??

yes the memory is certainly compatible.

Okey I've tried many different things now including 3 different PS/2 keyboard. All fine in bios but not moving in window installer. So I made a unattended installation cd of my window cd. And it actually got pass the welcome to setup screen to the screen where you get a chance to create and delete partitions. I tried to create a partition but no deal still no keyboard. It seems the computer isn't hanging during the installation or anything it's simply not recognising the keyboard.

sigh, might have to try to borrow an USB keyboard off my friend and try that.

Other than that, does anyone know how to modify the winnt.sif file so that during unattended installation it automatically partitons the whole harddrive into one partition and select that for window installation?

Or if anyone else know why my keyboard isn't responding in the window installer, please help

Not sure what else to tell you at this point on the keyboard, except that I am kind of curious as to whether you are using a legitimate MS CD with the correct drivers needed, but as for unattended setup.. yes that I can help you with..

it's certainly not the cd, because I try to use the 6 floppy window xp boot and i get the same result. I got the mobo replaced today by another of the same model and I still get the same thing.
