Win8.1 Will Not Install on Win7

Downloaded Win8.1 to be installed on Win7. After downloading all required files and finally went to install, Win8 said "Something Went Wrong! Your Computer is Not Ready! Please Try Installing Again." This message continued to be displayed irregardless of the amount of attempts. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

Windows 8.1 does not support an Upgrade from Windows 7, you must do a clean install and you do that by booting to the Windows dvd.
