I hope that someone out there can help me with this issue as I have had no
luck getting any help so far.
I am getting a message when I shut down Windows XP ( whether logging out of
an account or shutting the system down) asking me to end now for a program
running, titled win453. All info I can gather on this title shows it to be
some kind of malware, spyware, etc. , however every scan I run, whether with
my own antivirus or an online scanner comes up empty of anything. I cannot
even find the file where most online info tells me it is likely located.
Can anyone help?

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

I think you can report it to some anti-virus software company.

:-)

If you are running "Defender Pro Anti-virus" this is where your problem is.
They are aware of the problem and are currently looking for a solution. I
have the same problem and contacted DP when malware didn't show up on my
system. I installed DP on another machine and the same problem reared its
ugly head. Send DP a note and let them know you have the problem. :0)
