Win Xp SP2 clean reinstall does not update - error codes 0x80240036 and 0x80244019 - any help pleas

I have not been able to download the SP3 service pack. The update system worked OK until I did the reinstall (simply using the OEM hidden partition system) but the XP SP2 is perfectly legitimate and as supplied with the Acer laptop.
