Hi all,

I need some help as I'm having issues in getting my new PCIe usb 3.0 card to work.

Basically I've got myself this PCIe USB 3.0 card (so can finally have some better transfer speeds on the go).

It states it needs a "PCI-Express slot must be version 2.0 or higher" to get the usb 3 speeds of 5GB/s; otherwise version 1 will be limited to 2.5GB/s.

I have the Asus P6T motherboard which has:

2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (dual x16, blue)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, white)
1 x PCIe x1
2 x PCI

This picture will aid you.

My understanding of this is that I have a small white one which is version 1 (directly under the first blue PCI-E version 2), currently where my graphics card is installed. The next PCIe which is version 2 is the next one under the small white one (the big blue one) with another white one at x4. I have the PCIe card installed into the "PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, white)". I have also attached the SATA power cable required. I am unable to install the front USB header (19 pin) as my current case uses USB 2.0. I will be upgrading the case which does have front usb 3.0 in the future.

According to this forum I have installed the card correctly. Is this correct?

I think it is correct because (a) the PCIe card red light appears lit inside my case AND (b) because I can see the USB 3.0 controller host listed within the Device Manager.

However when I connect my usb 3.0 scandisk flash memory stick, it's blue light flashes but within Windows XP > My Compputer the device does not appear???

I try it in my USB 2.0 and it is formatted to FAT32 and also works perfectly fine so I know it's not my USB Pen.

I'm using driver version 3.0.23.0

Unsure on firmware.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.
