Why are you telling ME this?

Your pretty much SOL, the product keys you recover using the methods
mentioned will not help, they will give you the volume key that IBM used on
it's disk image, and you cannot use these to reinstall XP.

Download the following free program and it will display all license keys on
your machine including Windows XP.

demosxe: Please don't hijack another post for your problem. Especially when it has nothing to do
with the original post.
Start a new post with your problem.

But in answer to your problem, if the activation over the internet fails, you will be given a phone
number to call.

I'm not sure the OP has a volume license that is installed on each of
his hosts. He mentions having multiple hosts but not that a volume
license was used on all or any or them. In fact, if it were a volume
license then doesn't then come without any requirement to enter a
product key? That is, the product key that he yanks out will be the
same one that got used (but the installer never had to actually enter)
for each of the licenses that he peeled out of the volume package?

The assumption is that he would still need to know that product key
for the volume license when and if he has to call in to get those
licenses activated; however, I thought volume licenses never needed
activation. From a volume license package, you install and go. No
product key is entered, no activation required.

I haven't personally had to install multiple licenses from a volume
package(well, once a long, LONG time ago in the alpha lab and don't
remember having to bother with a product key or with activation).

Because I thought I was on a company internal newsgroup. I had just been
woken up from my afternoon nap by some idiot wanting some work done.

I'm not talking about a standard VLM. The OS on the IBM was installed using
an image with a volume key by IBM, not using the key on the COA, so they
will not match, same with Dell, HP, and most every other large OEM.
