Fada Tour
Got a weird one here.
I have a NeatReceipts mobile scanner (NM-1000). NeatReceipts 5.0 latest has been installed, and works. Yes, it scans fine.
My normal routine is I start up Windows Fax and Scan, scan in a document, and have Evernote auto-import that for safekeeping. I find Neatreceipts... cumbersome. I have gotten this to work fine in Win7 on my laptop, thought I'd do the same on my new desktop with Win8, no such luck.
This is a new Win8, with all the latest patches available from Microsoft and maker. (V6.3 build 9600 if you must ask).
I can acquire an image by going to control panel, devices and printers, and there is NeatReceipts Mobile Scanner. If I right-click, I can get it to scan, and yes, it really does scan something. It works. (but I can't trigger any program with the hardware button, if it's relevant).
However, if I start up Windows Fax and Scan, then click new scan, I get "no scanner found".
For grins, I got Irfanview, select source, and it did find "WIA-Neat Mobile Scanner 1.0 (32-32)", which scans fine if I acquire.
So what's wrong with Windows Fax and Scan?
