I have a 2 year-old Acer PC with i3, Windows 7 Home Premium, equipped with four different memory card readers. For a while the card readers used to work, but now, they won't recognize that a card has been inserted. Let me be more precise, an activity light does show that a card is inserted, but when I click on the drive letter, a dialogue box tells me to "insert a card in drive..." No, it isn't just this card (I knew you were going to ask). It's the same with all cards, CF or SD. whether 1gb or 16gb. I have run all the troubleshooting I could on the system. The device manager tells me the devices are working properly. I've checked the drivers, and microsoft assures me that I have the most recent versions. Auto-play is turned on for all devices. No, I don't want to buy an external card reader (darn it!), I want the internal ones to work. If I've left something out, please ask for more info. I appreciate any help you can send my way.
