I recently reinstalled Windows XP Home and now any time I run a multimedia
application the system locks up when exiting the program. This happens
whether I'm playing a DVD movie in Media Player or watching TV via my TV
tuner. I tried restoring the system to the day of the reinstallation to
recapture the original state before adding a lot of software but this did not
solve the problem. Any ideas? I'm not having this problem with the Vista
partition, i.e. the same hardware is being used. Could this be a corrupt
codex or a bad .dll?
