White Line instead of XP Logo at startup

I've installed XP Pro SP3 on a IBM/Lenovo ThinkCentre 8113-EKU. After the GUI setup program was finished and the computer rebooted, I got the white loading bar instead of the Windows XP logo. I thought that it just might have been a problem with the first startup but I've installed all updates and every time have to reboot the same thing happens. It wouldn't bug me so much except it takes about 10-15 minutes every time I have to reboot which is not normal for a P4 3.2Ghz with 2Gb of RAM. The white line just takes forever to become full and there isn't even any info above the line such as the typical "Windows is Resuming" message. I've looked at the boot.ini file and ran CHKDSK but everything came up normal. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this to happen I would really appreciate the help.
