Is there a forum for reporting a SP3 issue? I send debug information to
Microsoft and that maybe enough but not sure?

Thanks!

MSDN Universal.

Beta reports are sent to the administrators of the beta program. Their
identity and the contact and reporting method will be with the materials you
received or read when you signed up and were accepted for the beta program.

If you can't remember this, go back to where you got it and ask.

If you downloaded this from an unauthorized, non-MS site, you're on your
own, because MS has no way of knowing what you actually downloaded, and no
responsibility for it.

Read complete thread and you will see where I got it. If I downloaded from an
unauthorized site do you think I will really care about fixing a but!?

No forums at MSDN for this?

It's now public.

as in "available on Technet and MSDN" - that's not QUITE "public" - you
have to have a paid subscription to either AFAIK....

Technically - it has been placed on SEVERAL 3rd party sites at this point...
Example:

http://www.betanews.com/article/Off...e_Windows_XP_SP3_RC1_follows_along/1197392924
Specifically:
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/1197391546/1

Seems to be legitimate as well - although it seems strange I have not read
any official announcements on Microsoft's site about it --> which could be
on purpose to limit the number of people who mistake it for the final
version of SP3.

It's being advertised on a number of sites.
The download came from Windowsupdate (via Beta News). Vista SP1"RC" has been
similarly leaked.
I remember that SP2 Beta had its own Privatenews.microsoft.com NG with a
password.

but not official MS ones, other than Technet and MSDN, which are official MS
sites....

Well, as Microsoft is silent on the issue, I strongly suspect that it was
therm who leaked it. I only installed it on my spare XP Pro anyway. My
main one will have to wait.

No. Microsoft is not interested in busy-body nit-picking.

Non beta testers should not utilize any upcomming service pack, etc. unless
it's a RC and RTM - you are taking a blind jump.

Technically - you can get the RC1 of SP3 (for Windows XP) straight from
Microsoft whether or not you are a Beta Tester, Technet or MSDN subscriber,
etc... (Release Candidate 1 - so it is *not* the final version - use only if
you don't mind extra work and possible unsupported issues...)

SP3 Information (current information):
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936929

And to download it direct from Microsoft,
you have to 'stumble across' the link:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._a2ca583dedcd86837796111a632efa29a23f4cc0.exe

Othrwise you can download it from sites such as "BetaNews"...
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Microsoft_Windows_XP_Service_Pack_3/1197391546/1

AGAIN:
Release Candidate 1 - so it is *not* the final version - use only if you
don't mind extra work and possible unsupported issues...
