We have had this printer for 2 years and has worked perfectly until about 1 month ago when we started getting this message "You need a WIA driver" everytime we tried to scan. I have been in contact with Canon and have done everything they asked (uninstalled printer and drivers and then reinstalled them) with no luck. When I go onto the Windows services, it says my WIA driver is running. I am at my wits end trying to fix this and hoping someone can help. I don't understand why this has happened all of a sudden.

Hi friend! I do not have a Cannon printer. I can not believe cannon can't help you solve this issue.
This is all I have to offer you, which isn't very much. Are you sure you are competently uninstalling the printer before you try to reinstall it??
Printers are my least favorite thing to help with, but I'll try to help you! I can just tell you that you are not alone with this issue. Printers are very cheap. Maybe try a different brand!
