Hello,

I am the owner of an Asus U43f laptop, which I got brand new around the time Windows 8 came out. I was promised that the laptop would have full functionality with Windows 8, and therefore purchased it over several other laptop brands. However, come to find out, for the last year or so, I have been unable to update my laptop to Windows 8.1 due to some sort of driver incompatibility, one that Asus and/or Microsoft could and should have likely fixed by now. Every time I upgrade from an older os to 8.1, it reverts, and every time I install a fresh copy, my laptop emits a screeching sound and I have to wipe the drive and reinstall Windows 7 or 8. Contacting both of their tech support lines gets me nowhere aside from wasting hours on remote desktop connection with Microsoft, and wasting mere seconds being told that there's nothing Asus is willing to do on their respective hotline. Anybody who uses 8 knows that 8.1 is the way to go, since it contains several basic features that Windows 8 doesn't, however users like me are either locked into 7 or forced into 8, just because of one driver. So my question is this, when is this "Windows 8 Compatible" laptop going to get real Windows 8 support? I'm hoping that somehow this can be brought to Microsoft or Asus's attention, even though it likely won't.

Thank you for your time,
