when i go to install xp, the menu to install xp is faded out.

I had to reformat my hard drive due to many unfixable errors. I formatted the hard drive and checked it out, it is healthy. When I put my Windows XP install disk in there are 3 options. Option one, which is to install XP is faded out and I can't get access
to it. Help.
