I bought a new computre with windows 8 installed last week. By so far it is clean, because this my first time to use windows 8, it takes sometime to know something about it before install some other softwares. Now this laptop have only windows 8 itself, together with McAfee antivirus and some tools from ASUS (it is a laptop build by ASUS).

But its hard disk driver seems having a big problem, it is always running crazy to read or write something, whatever on the laptop just booting up or leaving along for several minutes, or I'm accessing the laptop.

With help of taskmgr and its resource monitor, following tasks were found operating hdd very anxiously:

- AudioEndpointBuilder (svchost pid 1040)

- defragsvc (already shut off plan of defrag, but it still running now and then)

- ngen (what's that?)

- and someothers...

Everytime, once anyone of above tasks starts, laptop seems loss control and I almost cannot access any software in the computer anymore, only way is to waiting until it finished or bootup laptop when I lost patience. It is a pity. How can I do something to stop the crazy hdd reading?

Thanks,

LaMer
